Angled Tube and Pipe Notching Tools

Vogel offers a variety of angled notching tools for tube and pipe.

  • The Arc-Fit Angular is generally used for notching pipe on an angle
  • The Arc-Snug is used for notching tubing on an angle.
  • The Mitre-Snug is used when an angled tube end is required instead of a notch to mate with another tube.

Angled tube & pipe notching tools are dedicated to specific tube sizes and angles, but the housings can be reused when a different angle is required.

All Vogel angular notching tools are spring loaded for easy set-up.  The notching process is fast and easy, normally under 10 seconds.  A slug is produced, not chips, so no secondary handling for chip removal is required.

We can custom build tools for specialized part applications like notching a tube to fit a different size tube at a specific angle. Remember that these tools notch a slug that will eject out of the tool, not chips like when machining the tube end. This means no secondary handling for chip removal.

Vogel tools are designed for mild steel or stainless pipe or tubing.  Pipe that deviates from ASTM standards, with properties such as increased yield strength, or tubing made of HSLA materials high-strength alloys will exceed the capacity of our tooling and cannot be successfully notched with the our tools.  Use of Vogel tools in these situations is NOT recommended and can result in tool failure and risk of injury.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the material is appropriate and suitable for Vogel tools.  Material issues interfering with Vogel tool performance are not considered a tool manufacturing defect and will not be covered under Vogel’s product warranty.  Returns will not be accepted for tools damaged by use with inappropriate materials.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss your specific notching needs, so we can recommend the best options. You can also send us a print of your part so that we can prepare a quote tailored to your exact application.
