The Vogel Arc-Twin Machine notches the end of a tube or pipe in one stroke. This means guaranteed notch orientation and the tooling lasts twice as long as our Arc-Fit (two hit per tube end) method. Arc-Twin tooling can be sharpened when worn. Watch video
The Vogel Arc-Twin Machine is easy to use! Simply insert the pipe or tube into the opening on the front of the Arc-Twin unit, step on the foot switch to cycle, then remove the notched tube. Cycle time is about 3 seconds. Watch a video of our Arc-Twin machine on YouTube.
In addition to choosing an the Arc-Twin Machine, you will need to select inserts (tooling) for each notching application. Changeover time for an Arc-Twin tube notcher is under 20 minutes and with our Tandem Units, you can install two sets of tooling, the same or different. This gives you the ability to eliminate changeover time, or boost your productivity by producing one notched end on two different parts with each press stroke!
We offer a orientation device that can be used to maintain orientation when both ends of a part require notching.
Tooling is sharpenable for long life. Customers frequently complete 20,000 notchers or more before sharpening is required. With regular maintenance, 3 – 5 sharpenings before replacement is needed is not unusual.
While notching a pipe to fit the same size pipe is the most common application for these machines, we can also build many types of custom notching tools. Examples of custom notches include:
If an Arc-Twin machine sounds like a good fit for your manufacturing needs, please contact us to discuss your specific notching needs and request a quote. You can also send us a print of your part so that we can prepare a quote tailored to your exact application.
